A vacancy for a PLM-Engineer CAD/CAE Domain (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space
in Ottobrunn. The successful applicant will join Plan & Build for Simulation

The successful candidate will be able to deliver the global design including technical requirements, principles and models that guides solution design for the IT Product, in line with the Enterprise Architecture guidelines in strong collaboration with Technology Specialists.

The successful candidate will be able to analyse and translate business needs into information and technical requirements matching the architectural blueprint. Secure the integration of solutions across applications, systems and platforms to achieve business objectives. Ensures consistency across IT Products.

The successful candidate will be able to act as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future IT Products & Services and validates product designs. Collaborates with other Solution Architects, systems analysts, and developers to deliver the highest quality solutions via cutting edge technologies.

The successful candidate will be able to define models, including solution patterns, to guide solution decisions. Participates in all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support.

  • term strategic planning for the organization's Information systems. Define policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the organization.


Tasks & accountabilities
You will be responsible for the following activities:
-Participate in all phases of the IM project life cycle (design, development, implementation, testing and support)
-Actively and efficiently collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, technology experts teams and business departments
-Manage support services and lead external resources in a compliant way – act as Service Owner for CAE operations (manage service reviews, problems and improvements)
-Supervise and support the operation and enhancements of following IM solutions:
o Simulation Lifecycle Management with (Dassault Systems) Enovia V6R2013x (upgrade/migration to V6R2017x)
o HPC environment with scheduler, compute servers and applications (solvers)
o Material Center (MSC Software)
o legacy CAD/PDM system with Catia V5 and VPM V4 (Dassault Systems)
-Lead the implementation of restricted / national instances for design and simulation infrastructure with data management
-Provide your expertise concerning the fulfilment of customer needs

This role will involve some travel for business (5 times a year in Europe).
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • Engineering degree,
  • Basic knowledge of the engineering processes (mechanical, thermal, electrical and electronic design; mechanical, thermal and fluid dynamics analysis / simulation; configuration management)
  • Basic knowledge in DS Enovia V6 framework and operation,
  • Basic knowledge in HPC infrastructure and operation,
  • Basic knowledge in database architecture and operation (mainly Oracle and MSSQL),
  • First experience in project management/coordination would be appreciated,
  • Ability to abstract problems and issues in analytical way,
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and good adaption on new technologies or software solutions (evaluation, pilot projects)
  • Communication skills and ability to work within a team (with colleagues from Germany, France, UK and Spain)
  • Negotiation level of English.
