Diversity

Key to the success of Airbus is our cultural diversity. Employees of more than 100 different nationalities who between them speak 20 languages, work together across both geographical and professional boundaries. As a top management priority, diversity makes us truly international and allows us to forge powerful collaborations.
We encourage inclusion and respect for how individual differences contribute to the collective performance. And although our headquarters and main manufacturing sites are based in Europe, our business activities (involving both suppliers and customers) are conducted all over the world.
Airbus is committed to enabling more women to enter the aeronautical sector. In 2010, the number of women employees in Airbus reached 23%. In 2012, our target for women employees in Airbus is 25%. This is higher than the proportion of female students on European aeronautical courses, which averages out at around 15- 18%.
Within the recruitment process we are committed to recognise and consider all diverse sectors for appropriate opportunities within Airbus. In the frame of a fair and robust selection process, when selecting a candidate, we take into account company diversity objectives. However, there may be restrictions for certain nationalities to employment such as visas and work permits. Airbus does not discriminate against individuals from these countries, but there are legal requirements defined at a national governmental level to which we must adhere.

Mission handicap & Emploi
In the framework of its Diversity policy, Airbus has signed with all the representative union organisations a company agreement for each of its entities in France aiming to promote the employment and accommodation of differently abled people.
To ensure effective implementation of these commitments, a dedicated team called "Mission handicap & Emploi” has been put in place.
