Opportunities in China

In 1994, Airbus China Company Limited was officially established and Airbus China Beijing Representative Office started operation, which currently has a staff of about 170 Chinese local and expatriates in China. Customer service offices providing on-the-spot airline support include Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Lanzhou, Nanchang, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Dalian and Xi'an, also Hong Kong. Today, a US$80 million training and support centre, which is the most modern and first dedicated in China, is fully operational in Beijing near the Beijing Capital Airport.

Hua-Ou Aviation Training Centre is part of the cooperation joint venture between the China Aviation Supplies Holding Company [or what is today CAS] and Airbus China Ltd. The company was founded in 1996 with a registered capital of US$16.4 million on a 50:50 interest between CAS and Airbus. The company together with another joint venture, the Hua-Ou Aviation Support Centre, is housed in a sprawling modern complex in the Tianzhu Airport Industrial Zone, near the Beijing Capital Airport. As one of four Airbus global training centers, the 8200 square meter Hua Ou training center is the fourth training facility of Airbus after Toulouse Training Center in France, Hamburg Training Center in Germany and Miami Training Center in US. It provides Airbus aircraft operators with Airbus training programs for flight crews, maintenance crews, performance engineers, as well as cabin crews. It is the only Airbus training centre in the Asia-Pacific region, providing high quality training and support services to the airlines. Since it received the first group of pilot trainees in October 1997, the training center has provided training for people from more than 30 airlines worldwide. Over 18,500 registered trainees have been trained, including Chinese and foreign pilots, maintenance engineers and cabin attendants.

Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Centre was formally inaugurated in July 2005 in Beijing, and became joint venture with with AVIC I, AVIC II in 2008,   70% by Airbus China. The engineering centre successfully got EN9100 certificate from French international audit centre. Currently more than 150 engineers, and will reach 200 engineers in future. The facility will in particular perform specific design work for the A350 family aircraft.

Final Assembly line joint venture 51% Airbus 49 % Tianjin Free trade zone (TJFTZ) , AVIC I, AVIC II was signed in 2007. First assembly start August 2008. Airbus (Tianjin) Delivery centre was Established in Nov 2007 with WFOE 100 % Airbus S.A.S. First A320 delivery was in June 2009.
