UK School Pupils
Our work experience programmes are aimed at school and college students aged 14 to 19. Students spend time in an engineering, manufacturing or support function, at either Filton (Bristol) or Broughton (North Wales).
As one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers at the forefront of an innovative and dynamic industry, we want to inspire the next generation to understand what we do and develop a passion for our business.
We have a programme of organised tours of our manufacturing sites for schools and colleges. And for those wanting to gain more in-depth knowledge, we run a number of programmes designed to meet national curriculum requirements.
From our point of view, placements give us the chance to develop relationships with students that we then use to match future employment opportunities. It also helps us improve links with schools and colleges, and influence the quality of future employees.
What’s more, schools directly benefit too. These programmes promote engineering, science, technology and maths via a range of activities. They also support the national curriculum through projects, industry days, teacher placements and competitions.
