'Undergraduate Apprenticeship'

Our "Undergraduate Apprenticeship" is a three-year programme that combines vocational and academic training with on-the-job experience. You will attend one of our partner universities to study for your BEng Honours degree.

Airbus has led the way with this programme whereby participants also achieve a professional IEng level qualification.

As part of the “Undergraduate Apprenticeship”, we offer a limited number of ICT opportunities as well.

As an ICT apprentice you will receive additional training on the various toolsets in use, and will be expected to complete the required ITIL (industry best practice framework) components required of the position. Upon completion of the ICT Undergraduate Apprenticeship, you will stay within the ICT organisation.

Programme Structure

During the programme you will complete Higher Vocational Qualifications (NVQ Level 4 Engineering Leadership) and vocational experience working on-the-job as an engineer; an invaluable part of this apprenticeship not readily available at university. The first period is spent at college, the second and third are spent at Airbus and at university.

Minimum requirements

  • 300 UCAS points
  • Two A Levels (or equivalent; this includes Welsh, Scottish and International equivalents only) at grade B or above in Maths and Physics
  • For the ICT “Undergraduate Apprenticeship”, a demonstrable interest in both engineering and IT is required.
