Airbus provides customers with materials provision data to help all aircraft with the process of planning for, and purchasing, necessary spares and tools. Airbus Provisioning Services delivers recommendations that are tailored to customers’ needs and based on customised parameters.
Operators benefit from Airbus’ significant expertise, which facilitates simplified planning for maintenance events and reduces the number of orders that are high priority or for Aircraft on Ground (AOG). Airbus’ unrivalled planning process helps avoid delays during maintenance by ensuring that the necessary material will be available when it is needed. This advanced planning also helps reduce costs by ensuring that material can be sourced as early as possible for the best possible price. The introduction of a reward scheme for data sharing provides the necessary framework to nurture the mutually beneficial relationship with customers, which allows Airbus to constantly improve its already exceptional delivery of maintenance events.
Standard provisioning documents
These standard provisioning documents help customers better prepare for service entry or fleet growth, and consist of Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL), Detailed Parts Lists, Tools and GSE recommendation and Spec2000 provisioning files.
Supplementary provisioning documents
Consisting of Material Storage Data (MSD), Fleet Commonality Analysis (FCA), Must Have Recommendation and X-File Part Fabrication Material.
Provisioning data is available in Spec2000 chapter 1 formats.
The X-file contains a list of local manufacturer part numbers and the needed raw material.
Forecasting service for maintenance material – anticipating the spares needs
For the operation of the in-service fleet, Airbus offers a variety of planning services to enhance material availability for maintenance events. Airbus ensures that customers can get all the material they need for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, without jeopardizing the planned aircraft ground-time.
Fly Away Kit Recommendation is a selection of the most needed spare parts for on-board storage, based on the RSPL and customer usage parameters. The range of spare parts within this kit covers LRU, LMP and STD, tooling as well as efficient repair kits. All selected parts are based on ETOPS and MEL requirements as well as Airbus provisioning experience. This recommendation is set for operation without maintenance support.
Airbus Material Maintenance Forecast (AMMF) is a customised material recommendation to help provide the right material for heavy maintenance events (C-Check or Structural Overhaul) and reduce the amount of high priority and AOG orders. This forecast integrates consumption data from more than 2200 maintenance events and over 120 Airbus operators worldwide and is adjusted for aircraft age, effectiveness of spare parts for specific aircraft MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number), utilisation profile and environmental conditions, and is tailored to the maintenance work package.
Airbus Component Replacement Data (ACRD) is a document which reflects all necessary items the operator may need for replacing all the positively recommended LRUs in the customers’ RSPL. It consists of tools, expendables, consumables and ground support equipment and is based on the latest revision of RSPL, AMM and IPC. An ACRD generates considerable time savings by streamlining the required maintenance documentation. The ACRD also allows for the consolidation of all materials linked to a LRU part number in one single document with a clearly arranged layout.
Did you know?
Some 10 to 15 per cent of an airline’s direct operating costs come from aircraft maintenance. This means that having the right system for all maintenance and engineering services is essential to efficiently support the airline in its daily operations.
