The A380 test aircraft, which landed early on Saturday morning in Singapore to fly daily in the Asian Aerospace air show, has just returned from Iqaluit, Canada, where it successfully performed a cold weather test campaign.

The test aircraft, the second A380 to fly, spent five days in conditions of up to minus 30 degrees Celsius, remaining a full 12-hour period at these low temperatures. From the north of Canada to the heat and humidity of Singapore, the aircraft and its crew are demonstrating their adaptability to extreme conditions.

The A380 stopped in Toulouse long enough to be entirely re-decorated in Singapore Airlines colours as the airline will be the first operator to fly the aircraft in commercial service. Once in Singapore Airbus took the opportunity to begin hot weather testing and will also perform compatibility tests, with Changi Airport, to allow the airport and the airline to check equipment before the delivery of the first aircraft.

Later this summer, a hot weather campaign is planned to take place in Africa where the aircraft will be faced with a temperature of up to 40° Celsius.
