The A380 will become a familiar site in South Korea starting later this year when Emirates introduces service from its home base of Dubai to Seoul. These flights are timed to coincide with 2010's Visit Korea Year activities.
The list of worldwide cities served by Airbus' 21st century A380 flagship will grow again with Emirates' introduction of service from Dubai to Seoul, Korea later this year.
To be introduced in November, the operations from Emirates' home base in the United Arab Emirates to Seoul's Incheon International Airport are timed to coincide with the Visit Korea Year activities in 2010, and will be the first A380 operations to the South Korean capital.
"Seoul has been an extremely successful market for Emirates since we introduced services in 2005," said H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline Group. "Incheon International Airport has invested significantly to prepare its infrastructure for A380 operations, and we thank them and our ground handlers, Swissport, for their hard work to ensure the airport is so well equipped for our A380."
Emirates inaugurated its A380 service in August 2008. Seoul will become the sixth airport to be served by the carrier's A380s, after Dubai, New York, and London - plus soon-to-be-launched flights to Sydney and Auckland.
