DAE Capital, the aircraft leasing and financing division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to buy 100 aircraft from Airbus. The order is for 70 A320 Family and 30 A350 XWB Family aircraft.

DAE Capital aims to become a leading lessor based in the Middle East. DAE Capital?s parent company DAE is a world class aerospace company headquartered in Dubai. It manages a number of activities including airport development and operations, engineering, manufacturing and services.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman, DAE stated that ?We are confident that DAE Capital will quickly become a leader in the aircraft leasing business, globally. In chosing a portfolio of A320s and A350 XWBs, we are investing in the most modern fleet available and one that?ll offer our customers unmatched competitivity to help meet their own business demands?.

?This order is a tremendous endorsement of Airbus aircraft. We are delighted DAE Capital have chosen to base their fleet on our products and we look forward to a long term partnership. DAE?s cluster of aerospace services allows customers to benefit from a world-class knowledge and service pool that is unique in aircraft leasing. The A320 really is the world?s leading aircraft in its category and so is the A350 XWB in its class?, said Tom Enders, Airbus President and CEO.

The A320 Family, which includes the A318, A319, A320 and A321, is recognised as the benchmark single-aisle aircraft family. Each aircraft features fly by wire controls and all share a unique cockpit commonality across the range. With proven reliability and extended servicing periods, the A320 Family has the lowest operating costs of any single aisle aircraft. Over 5,450 Airbus A320 Family have been sold and over 3200 delivered to more than 200 operators worldwide, making it the worlds best selling commercial jetliner ever.

The A350 XWB (Extra Wide-Body) is Airbus? newest aircraft model and will be the world?s most technically advanced aircraft when it enters service in 2013. The A350 XWB is designed to increase productivity, offer unparalleled levels of passenger comfort in its class whilst offering the lowest operating costs and lowest seat mile costs of any aircraft in its category. Addressing environmental concerns, the A350XWB will be one of the most fuel and eco-efficient aircraft ever.
