Announcing a new order for 30 new A320s, Dr Vijay Mallya, Chairman and Managing Director of Kingfisher Airlines, highlighted the explosive growth of aviation in India and the importance of planning for the future.
“Kingfisher is constantly looking ahead“, he said. “We are the only airline to fly only brand new aircraft. We have all our orders and flight slots booked well in advance. Our needs are covered up to 2007 and this new order sees us through until 2011.”
For Dr. Mallya, the success of his airline is due to a fundamental understanding of Indian customers. “We deliver superior value at the right price,” he said and announced that, after the success of his airline’s unique single class which “surpasses business classes elsewhere”, he was launching the Kingfisher’s First Class in 2006.
“Kingfisher represents young India, the India of tomorrow,” he concluded.
