Growing e-catalogue to help airlines with upgrades

Airbus' growing and successful electronic catalogue is expected to provide around 120 products on the Airbus World secured portal, all while offering customers the ability to order parts, purchase cabin upgrades and see their information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Airbus' Upgrade Services e-catalogue is a growing success with already more than 70 optional products available on-line for customers.



Since its launch a year ago, the e-catalogue has grown from strength to strength and is expected to provide around 120 products on the Airbus World secured portal as well as many more cabin upgrades.



The electronic catalogue offers customers the parts they need, a place to see the items and technical pre-requisites and information in real time 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so they can shorten their decision-making cycle, while increasing their aircraft profitability. The e-catalogue also contains several cabin upgrades. Customers can look at and buy "off-the shelf" new cabin pre-packaged modifications.



With Airbus' e-catalogue airlines will be able to manage efficiently their in-service aircraft upgrades and to better plan their maintenance visits. Airlines planning to switch an aircraft to another route may need to turn a three-class set-up into a two-class layout with little time to spare. Through the e-catalogue, customers can order the components and the Service Bulletin.



With the increasing number of in-service aircraft, the necessity for airlines to maintain the residual value of their Airbus aircraft, and the market demand for competitive cabin layouts, the need for modifications will continue to grow. To cater for this increasing demand, the catalogue is growing constantly. As such, more than 50 new topics will be added to the e-catalogue in the first few months of 2006.
