Gamesa signs an agreement of intent to participate in the A350
The A350 programme is currently in the "Conceptual Design" phase, during which Airbus is defining the technological and industrial criteria and the sharing of the workload associated with this new project between the Airbus centres of excellence and their main partners.
Airbus wants its shared risk partners to accept overall responsibility for major structural sections or complete systems of the aircraft, from the phases of conceptual design, development and support for certification to final assembly and support for the product.
Gamesa Aeronãutica is currently one of Airbus's most important collaborators in Spain, and participates on a shared risk basis in the A380 with components as significant as the metallic structure of the rear fuselage section of the aircraft, to which are coupled the horizontal and vertical stabilisers.
Through its subsidiary ICSA, Gamesa also participates in the leading and trailing edges and the joining of the boxes for this stabiliser, as well as in other Airbus programmes.
