Charitable activities to be facilitated by the Airbus Corporate Foundation
The Airbus Corporate Foundation began operations on 1 December to foster charitable projects that promote the company's values - with a focus on the themes of humanitarian and community support, youth development and the environment.
Day-to-day functioning of the Foundation is managed by a permanent team, and a Project Selection Committee meets at least three times a year to examine short-listed candidate projects. An International Steering Committee facilitates the implementation of the Foundation's policies around the world, and provides essential feedback from the selected projects, along with handling communications and the involvement of Airbus employees.
For its support of the environment, the Foundation's emphasis is on improving and increasing environmental awareness, and supporting projects with particular attention on biodiversity. In its work on behalf of the world's youth, the Foundation will foster efforts that develop skills young people will need later in life - centred on advancing cross-cultural and global citizenship. The Foundation's third theme is to provide aid and relief in cases of natural disaster, as well as reaching out to develop the local communities where Airbus is present.
Organisations involved in one or more of the areas covered by the Airbus Corporate Foundation are able to ask for aid in a project, which could be a one-off event or a longer-term partnership.
Further details are available in the Foundation section of the Airbus website, where detailed information and application guidelines are provided. Also see the
