Asian Aerospace 2009 highlights Airbus' presence in the Asia/Pacific region

Airbus' key role in the growing Asian air transportation system is underscored at this week's Asian Aerospace 2009 show in Hong Kong, where the company will discuss its outlook for the aviation sector and provide insights on future trends in cabin innovations.

The Airbus exhibit in the AsiaWorld-Expo complex adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport includes a 1/20th scale cutaway model of the A380 - which is in commercial operation with three international carriers, and currently serves Hong Kong as part of its growing global route network. Also included on the Airbus stand is a scale model of the new A330-200F freighter.

Airbus has brought an A318 Elite to the Asian Aerospace 2009 outdoor static display area. This latest member of the Airbus Corporate Jetliner Family can fly eight passengers on sectors of up to 4,200 nautical miles/7,800 kilometres.

Airlines throughout the Asia/Pacific region are major customers for Airbus aircraft. A total of more than 2,400 single-aisle and widebody Airbus jetliners have been sold in this part of the world, with over 1,360 currently in operation with its carriers.

Airbus managers participating in the various conferences at Asian Aerospace 2009 will provide a market performance outlook and forecast, discuss the company's future SPICE galley concept, as well as participate in meeting panels on cabin innovations and weight reduction.
