VIP charter operator JETALLIANCE of Austria is to acquire an A318 Elite, becoming a new customer for the smallest member of the Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) Family. The new deal is in addition to the ACJ order it placed earlier this month.

In an informal meeting at the Airbus press chalet, Alex Vagacs, CEO of JETALLIANCE explained that the A318 fitted exactly the company’s needs for cabin size, flexibility, equipment and range and all at a very reasonable price.

JETALLIANCE, which has just ordered an Airbus Corporate Jet, will be able to take full advantage of the complete commonality between the two aircraft, which allow pilots and maintenance crew to work on both aircraft.

“The two aircraft have the same engines and the same cockpit equipped with a head-up display. It is a good combination,” said Richard Gaona, Airbus Vice President for Executive and Private Aviation.

JETALLIANCE Flugbetriebs AG is one of the world’s leading business-jet enterprises, with a fleet of 37 aircraft with an average age of only 3.5 years – one of the youngest in Europe. It operates under JAR OPS 1 in Europe, but is also FAA part 129 certificated, allowing it to fly commercially in the USA and Canada.
