The Middle East continues to be an important market for Airbus corporate jets, as the global sales activities for such aircraft gain renewed strength in 2011.

Approximately one-half of Airbus’ overall 170-plus corporate jet orders have been booked by Middle East customers, who have acquired aircraft across the product line – from the Airbus ACJ318/ ACJ319/ACJ320 family to its VIP widebodies.

Exhibited at the Dubai Airshow this week are a Comlux Airbus ACJ320 and an Al Jaber Aviation ACJ318, which are well suited for the operational needs of this region, according to François Chazelle, Vice President - Airbus Corporate Jets.

“In addition to offering the widest and tallest cabins of any business jet, they provide unmatched cargo space, which is well appreciated by the market,” he said.

Airbus corporate jet operations centred in the Middle East are experiencing new growth, with an ACJ318 being positioned in the region by Gama Aviation, along with an ACJ318 by Jet Aviation – both for private customers.  Additionally, an ACJ319 for another private customer currently is undergoing the cabin outfitting for operation by Doha-based Rizon Jet.
