Airbus, EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH), EADS Dresden based freighter conversion centre, MIG and Irkut signed a preliminary Letter of Intent concerning the conversion of single-aisle passenger aircraft into freighters.
Airbus, EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH), EADS Dresden based freighter conversion centre, MIG and Irkut signed a preliminary Letter of Intent concerning the conversion of single-aisle passenger aircraft into freighters.
The Letter Of Intent (LOI) was signed by Alexey Fedorov, General Director and Chief Designer of MIG, Oleg Demchenko, President of Irkut, Gustav Humbert Airbus President and CEO, and EFW President and CEO, Horst Emker.
The LOI is a further step in the co-operation programme between Airbus and the Russian aviation industry. Airbus’ activities with Russia cover a wide range of research and technology projects, design work, materials procurement and component manufacturing, as well as extensive co-operation in the field of aircraft certification.
The new agreement demonstrates the success of the co-operation programme whose value is planned to increase from US$800 million over ten years to US$900 million.
