Working with the best suppliers in the U.S.
Airbus is the number one export customer in the U.S. aerospace industry, with the company’s in-country spending supporting some 245,000 American jobs.
Just one example of how Airbus works helps to grow American companies is in Kinston, North Carolina. In 2010, Spirit AeroSystems opened at 500,000-square-foot plant there to manufacture the A350 XWB’s composite center fuselage frame. This major work package for Airbus’ newest aircraft underscores the company's commitment to growing its development and manufacturing activities in the United States and around the world.
This relationship is getting even stronger with the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility – a final assembly line for A319, A320 and A321 jetliners in Mobile, Alabama. This production site is an expansion of Airbus’ global network, and part of the company’s strategy to be close to its partners and customers around the world.
The Airbus procurement team, based at Airbus Americas’ headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, supports relationships with existing U.S. suppliers and facilities new opportunities for additional procurement in the U.S. for both Airbus and parent company the Airbus Group.
