Serving U.S. customers for over 30 years

Serving US customers for over 30 years

Over 2,100 Airbus aircraft have been delivered to customers in the United States since the handover of the first Airbus jetliner - an A300 - to Eastern Airlines in 1978. This number will grow to more than 3,200 - further strengthening Airbus' position in one of the world's most important and demanding marketplaces.

Airbus jetliners have become the aircraft of choice for a range of customers in the U.S. - from major carriers and cargo airlines to low-cost operators and the world's largest leasing companies.

Among the largest Airbus airline customers in the U.S. are American Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Airbus' highly reliable and efficient A320 Family is America’s bestseller, flying with carriers such as Frontier Airlines, Spirit, jetBlue, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America. The all-new A350 XWB is already a success in the U.S. with orders from CIT Leasing, Hawaiian Airlines, GECAS, United Airlines and US Airways.

Other major Airbus customers in the United States include leasing companies and aviation investment firms such as CIT Leasing, GECAS, and ILFC. American cargo and express package operators Federal Express, United Parcel Service and others also have chosen Airbus aircraft for their operations.

The versatile Airbus fleet in service performs a variety of operations: short-, medium- and long-haul passenger service, charters and regularly-scheduled flights, and the transportation of freight. The commonality of Airbus' fly-by-wire aircraft leads to significant cost savings in crew training for U.S. customers, as well as greater scheduling flexibility in mixed short- and long-haul operations.

Airbus Military's CN235 medium-range maritime patrol aircraft was the hands-down winner for the U.S. Coast Guard's Deepwater modernization program due to its versatility, cost-efficiency and the ability to perform a wide range of missions. The military service will utilize as many as 36 aircraft in the HC-144A configuration for search and rescue, drug interdiction, marine environmental control, cargo and troop transport, and MEDEVAC missions.

Furthermore, a military version of the C212 has proven itself to be a diverse and capable solution for one of Airbus Military's most demanding customers - U.S. Army Special Forces, which benefits from the aircraft's ability to land on both prepared and unprepared runways.
