Middle East Training Centre

In 2005, Airbus Flight Crew Training established a presence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The centre delivers training for Airbus aircraft in close proximity to Middle Eastern and North African customers, and in 2013 expanded to a second facility to meet this region’s demand.

Satair Group Middle East

In April 2008, Airbus opened a Material and Logistics Centre in the United Arab Emirates-based Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ) to provide enhanced support to airlines in the region. As part of Airbus’ promise to offer worldwide support, the 2,700-sq. metre Material and Logistics Centre offers storage space and office facilities and, and ensures optimised logistics and efficiency for all customers in the region. 

On January 1, 2014, Airbus Material & Logistics Management and Danish-founded Satair A/S, a world leader in sales and distribution of spares for aircraft maintenance, merged into one company by the name of Satair Group. 

Building on both companies’ existing presence, the centre is today hosted by Satair Group, a standalone company and 100-per cent subsidiary of Airbus, working with two channel brands in the market; Airbus and Satair. The centre not only consolidates the supply chain of Airbus and Satair, it also brings together the unique expertise of the two companies with their respective talents and customer relationships to offer the most comprehensive solutions for airlines and MROs.

The centre stocks more than 12,000 different parts with some 142,000 items at any one time, offering customer support and aircraft spares distribution to regional and worldwide destinations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Centre hosts an avionics and electronics repair station and vendor village providing state-of-the-art business centre services as well as office and storage facilities for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to enable commercial and technical support with optimised delivery lead times. The facility is fully air conditioned and humidity controlled, and is an integrated part of the Airbus Quality System – with approvals from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Airbus Resident Customer Support Managers

As part of Airbus support concept, Airbus has approximately 300 Resident Customer Support Managers (RCSM) at nearly 160 locations worldwide.  

Airbus has RSCMs at a number of locations throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa. The RCSMs work on site with airlines to ease the introduction of new Airbus aircraft into an airline’s fleet. 

They provide 24/7 on site technical advice, support and to help ensure the safe operation of an airline’s aircraft. This helps ease the entry into service of new aircraft and allows airlines to maximise the utilisation of their Airbus fleet.
