The generative manufacturing process "Additive Layer Manufacturing“ (ALM) is since 2015 part of the production for components of the A400M.; First double-walled titanium elbows were developed for the A400M fuel system by Airbus Defence and Space in Bremen.; This new technology will change the future and create a new horizon for cost and weight savings as well as lead times.

Airbus Defence and Space has successfully completed certification testing of the A400M new generation airlifter on a grass runway.
