Airbus Helicopters’ second H160 prototype takes off

The H160’s second prototype took off in Marignane, kicking off a busy 2016 for the H160 as it pursues its flight test program with two prototypes. <br />The second prototype is the first H160 to fly with the Turbomeca Arrano engines. PT1 had accumulated more than 75 hours of flight testing by the end of 2015, allowing the aircraft to open the flight envelope and validating some of the helicopter’s excellent features and outstanding handling qualities right from the start.

Airbus Helicopters employees came together to watch the first presentation flight of the H160 to staff on the runway in Marignane, France <br /> <br />Guillaume Faury highlighted the helicopter’s charismatic appeal and its remarkable attributes. <br />“The H160 is the fruit of a tremendous team effort, which already puts it in a good position to become the reference in its market segment.” <br />Pilot Olivier Gensse and the program’s manager, Bernard Fujarski, shared the warm thanks expressed by Guillaume Faury to all teams which contributed to the birth of this first H generation helicopter.

Final countdown to the 2015 Paris Air Show

The world's largest aeronautical event is about to take off. Airbus Helicopters' air show team previews some of the action to come on the rotorcraft side of this biannual event. <br /> <br />On the static display visit the H225M and the H135, plus full-scale mockups of our newest aircraft: the H145M and the H160, whose innovative Blue Edge blades are also on display at the CORAC (Civil Aviation Research Council) tent nearby. <br /> <br />Learn more about how blades in general are constructed at the Avion des Métiers exhibit, and then check out the X3 high-speed helicopter demonstrator next door at France's National Air and Space Museum.
