Airbus history made: the A350-1000 performs its successful maiden flight

Airbus’ Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100G-JM-equipped A320neo (new engine option) version received dual Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on 24 November 2015. Iran selects Airbus for its civil aviation renewal

In a significant step for modernising Iran’s commercial aviation sector, Iranian officials have signed two agreements with Airbus at the Elysée Palace during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s official visit to France. One agreement covers Iran Air’s acquisition of 118 Airbus jetliners – 73 widebodies and 45 single-aisle aircraft – and includes pilot and maintenance training and support services. The other is a comprehensive cooperation agreement to develop air navigation services, airport and aircraft operations, regulatory harmonisation, technical and academic training, maintenance, repair and industrial cooperation in the country. Airbus delivers its first U.S.-built aircraft to JetBlue

JetBlue officially took delivery of the first A320 Family aircraft produced at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama on 25 April 2016. The milestone jetliner was an A321 – the longest-fuselage member of Airbus’ popular single-aisle product line. This historic event was marked with a festive American football-themed ceremony held at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley – which was decorated in the U.S.’s red, white and blue colours.

VietJetAir’s first A320 jetliner on order from Airbus

Airbus’ A330neo builds on this widebody family’s success

Continuing its commitment to continuous product upgrades, Airbus launched the enhanced A330neo (new engine option) at the 2014 Farnborough Airshow. Scheduled for a fourth quarter 2017 service entry, the A330neo will be equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and shares 95 per cent commonality with existing A330 aircraft. A350 XWB route proving: Hong Kong and Singapore

Airbus’ MSN005 developmental A350 XWB jetliner travelled to Asia on the second trip of its global route-proving tour to demonstrate the aircraft’s readiness for airline operations. In this phase, the jetliner flew from Toulouse, France to Hong Kong, and then operated multiple flights between Hong Kong and Singapore before returning to Toulouse. The Asian trip allowed Airbus to evaluate the A350 XWB’s performance in hot and humid conditions, as well as showcase the aircraft for Cathay Pacific Airways – which has 46 of these highly efficient jetliners on order.
