Viva Air commits to 50 A320 Family aircraft

William Shaw - CEO and Founder of VivaColombia - Viva Air, the Latin America low cost carrier group owned by Irelandia Aviation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 50 A320 Family aircraft, comprising 35 A320neo and 15 A320ceo. The agreement paves the way for the group’s airlines VivaColombia and Viva Air Peru to base its fleet renewal and network growth on the A320 Family.

Airbus’ Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100G-JM-equipped A320neo (new engine option) version received dual Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on 24 November 2015. Airbus delivers its first U.S.-built aircraft to JetBlue

JetBlue officially took delivery of the first A320 Family aircraft produced at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama on 25 April 2016. The milestone jetliner was an A321 – the longest-fuselage member of Airbus’ popular single-aisle product line. This historic event was marked with a festive American football-themed ceremony held at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley – which was decorated in the U.S.’s red, white and blue colours.

VietJetAir’s first A320 jetliner on order from Airbus

ILA Berlin 2012 - AirAsia will be the first airline to operate an A320 with Sharklets
