Delivery of Thai Airways International’s first A350 XWB

During a delivery ceremony held 30 August 2016, Thai Airways International (THAI) became the eighth operator to receive Airbus’ A350 XWB jetliner – which features the latest aerodynamic design, carbon fiber fuselage and wings, plus new fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce engines. The carrier’s no. 1 aircraft is on lease from U.S.-based CIT. This video highlights key moments from the handover event.

AirAsia X orders more A330s

The AirAsia Group’s long-haul affiliate places a firm order with Airbus for 25 additional A330-300 widebody aircraft, which will support the carrier’s expansion plans. In total, AirAsia X now has 51 A330-300 jetliners on firm order, with an additional six to be leased from International Lease Finance Corporation.

A350 XWB route proving: Hong Kong and Singapore

Airbus’ MSN005 developmental A350 XWB jetliner travelled to Asia on the second trip of its global route-proving tour to demonstrate the aircraft’s readiness for airline operations. In this phase, the jetliner flew from Toulouse, France to Hong Kong, and then operated multiple flights between Hong Kong and Singapore before returning to Toulouse. The Asian trip allowed Airbus to evaluate the A350 XWB’s performance in hot and humid conditions, as well as showcase the aircraft for Cathay Pacific Airways – which has 46 of these highly efficient jetliners on order.

Asiana Airlines A380: Production (Episode 1)

In this video montage, the first A380 for South Korea’s Asiana Airlines takes shape at Airbus production facilities ahead of its 26 May 2014 delivery. Asiana will be the 11th operator worldwide to receive Airbus’ 21st century flagship jetliner.

Asiana Airlines A380: Furnishing (Episode 3)

In preparation for the 26 May 2014 delivery by Airbus, Asiana Airlines’ first A380 receives its seats, luggage compartments and additional cabin equipment. This double-deck jetliner has seating for a total of 495 passengers with high comfort levels.
