  • Guaranteed spare part availability and maintenance for wide range of components

Malaysia Airlines has selected “Services by Airbus” to provide Flight Hour Services (FHS) components support for its new fleet of six A350 XWB aircraft and its existing fleet of 18 A330. The agreements were signed during the Paris Air Show today by Peter Bellew, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Didier Evrard, Executive Vice President Head of Programmes.

These long-term agreements cover guaranteed spare parts availability for an extensive scope of A350 XWB and A330 Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), plus maintenance and logistics services at Malaysia Airlines’ main base and selected outstations. To ensure continuously the highest level of operational performance, Malaysia Airlines will benefit fully from the FHS pool located in Kuala Lumpur Airport and managed by Airbus.

Peter Bellew said: “Ensuring a smooth entry-into-service for our new A350 XWB fleet will enable us to deliver the highest performance of our A350 operations from day one, while minimizing the up-front investment. We are confident that Airbus’ tailored and cost-effective FHS support services will also optimize the ongoing operation of our A330 fleet.”

Didier Evrard Airbus said: “We are very pleased that Malaysia Airlines has entrusted its A350 and A330 component support to Airbus. This significant endorsement by Malaysia Airlines further reinforces Airbus’ leading position in the services market in Asia.”

The FHS agreement with Malaysia Airlines will further build the Services by Airbus presence in Malaysia.
