SoftBank Team Japan gets a step closer to the 2017 America’s cup racing with the roll-out of their new AC Class yacht embedding Airbus know-how. The unveiling event took place on February 25th in Bermuda.
Airbus has been supporting America’s Cup challenger SoftBank Team Japan (STJ) as a technology partner since October 2015 by providing engineering expertise already recognised through its Innovation Partnership with ORACLE TEAM USA.
As part of this partnership, Airbus’ knowledge in fields such as aerodynamics, instrumentation, simulation, composites, structures and data analysis have been acquired by SoftBank Team Japan for theirACClass yacht.
