New products and features on display at booth D501
Airbus Defence and Space, a leading solutions provider of secure communications for mission-critical users in the civil and military markets, will be displaying its latest products and features at booth D501 of Critical Communications World (CCW) at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain (19-21 May).
The company will be presenting its new DXTA Tetra server, a next-generation, mission-critical communication device and the newest addition to the DXT product family. The ‘A’ stands for Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture (ATCA), which is widely used in all major global telecom networks. Thanks to the new hardware, the DXTA boasts improved capacity and provides increased flexibility for both Tetra and hybrid networks. It comes with software that also enables non-Tetra subscribers and assets to be handled, such as commercial broadband services.
Airbus Defence and Space will also be officially introducing the Tactilon Suite, its new hybrid networks solution. It allows broadband capacities to be added to existing professional mobile radio (PMR) networks in a cost efficient, secure and controlled manner. Public safety organisations such as the police and rescue services will thereby gain reliable mobile access to new broadband applications. With the help of this new network management tool, the operators of public safety networks can provide attractive mobile broadband services, such as video, database queries and mobile office, as well as smart devices, in a secure and flexible way.
Furthermore, Airbus Defence and Space will be releasing Viewcor, a new real-time monitoring system for tactical operations within Tetra networks. The system displays the current status of a Tetra radio communications network using maps, tables, trend graphs and reports, thus helping public safety professionals to give a detailed picture of the current operational status of their network. Viewcor can be used for small or large networks as it is able to monitor information from up to several thousand Tetra base stations used during an operation or in a defined area.
The company will also be presenting a new version of its intrinsically safe Tetra hand-portable radio THR9 Ex. The THR9 Ex is specifically designed for those who require a rugged radio for demanding operations where intrinsically safe products are mandatory, such as firefighters or workers who use radio communications in explosive areas. Thanks to a complete reengineering of the acoustic design, this new terminal provides a high volume level and excellent audibility for voice calls. Such a high-level audio performance is especially crucial for those who mostly work in very noisy environments.
