EADS North America’s new advertising campaign highlights the company’s role in America’s aerospace and defense industry

Arlington, Virginia

EADS North America has launched a new advertising campaign that underscores the company’s role in America’s economy as the largest international commercial customer for U.S. aerospace products.

The advertisement series will run in key Washington, D.C.-area newspapers and on the Internet beginning today. The campaign highlights the $11 billion spent in the U.S. by EADS and its business units in 2008, supporting more than 200,000 American jobs. (See the ad campaign).

“Our commitment as a responsible corporate citizen is to provide the warfighter with superior products while creating high-value American jobs. We are living up to that commitment with programs such as the UH-72A Lakota helicopter – which our company is building for the U.S. Army and Army National Guard,” explained Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., chairman and CEO of EADS North America. “The UH-72A provides the perfect platform on which to launch our new advertising campaign. To support this program and the Army, EADS North America established the nation’s first new rotary-wing center of excellence in decades, and has created new business opportunities for aerospace suppliers across the country.”

The initial advertisement, titled “Our Stimulus Package,” features members of the Mississippi-based American Eurocopter team that produces UH-72A Lakotas. A total of 345 UH-72As are expected to be acquired by the Army through 2016, with nearly 60 of these rotary-wing aircraft already delivered on budget and on or ahead of schedule.
