Innovation award for Airbus engineers

Two Airbus engineers have won the jury's special prize in the "Engineers of the Year Awards" at a ceremony organised by French magazine L'Usine Nouvelle and the Conseil National des Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France (the National Council of French Engineers and Scientists). Robert Lafontan, Chief Engineer on the A380 programme, and Jesus Morales, previously responsible for the industrialisation of the A380 and now Head of A350 Industrial Co-operation and Partnership, were given the top award in the industrial project category in recognition of the innovative working methods, designs and logistics processes that were introduced on the A380 programme.
