Tom Enders supports Toulouse's candidature for 2013

Airbus President and CEO, Tom Enders alongside the Mayor of Toulouse is among the ten personalities who support the candidature of Toulouse as European Capital of Culture in 2013. The last phase of this candidature, a presentation to a jury, is taking place on 16 September in Paris.

As President of "Le Club des Entreprises Partenaires de Toulouse 2013," Tom Enders represents the support of the economic world for this candidature. Explaining why he was personally involved, he stated: "I am happy and proud to support this initiative as it is based on three themes extremely meaningful for us: Europe, culture and development.

"There are few things as personally or professionally stimulating as being able to benefit from the melting pot of culture, knowledge and passion to be found in cities like Toulouse.

"The impressive mix of nationalities coming here to work and learn mean that city’s cultural programme is open to whole range of different influences. There can be few places in Europe as diverse and as cosmopolitan as Toulouse or as deserving of the accolade of European Capital of Culture.

"Airbus wants to be closely involved in the future of Toulouse, to give back to a city that has always given us so much. We have the capacity, we have the willingness and, through Toulouse’s candidature and the projects that will drive its vision for the next 15 years, we have the means," he concluded.

As part of this campaign, the Beluga has been adorned with a special livery with which it criss-crosses the European skies.
