Airbus and Gamesa Aeronáutica have signed an Agreement of Intent at the Airbus plant in Getafe (Madrid), establishing a framework for performance and participation in the new Airbus A350 programme, which was commercially launched last December. The agreement also allows for the joint planning of this participation, reviewing and programming the engineering, manufacturing and financial capacities of Gamesa Aeronáutica.
Prior to this, McLeod spent nearly nine years at Airbus China, culminating in a two-and-a-half year assignment as President of Airbus China.
In his new position as President of Sales, McLeod will oversee all aspects of Airbus commercial activity in the United States and Canada, including sales, contracts, marketing, and asset management.
Each new Airbus order means new business for American companies. In 2004 alone, Airbus spent nearly $7 billion with suppliers in more than 40 U.S. states. Using a U.S. Department of Commerce model, that dollar amount translates into Airbus support of more than 140,000 American jobs.
