Airbus at Farnborough 2004

8 July 2004 Press Release

Airbus comes to Farnborough International Air Show (19-25 July) after a solid performance in 2003 when it also became Number 1 in terms of deliveries, a performance it continued in the first half of 2004 with its advanced product range. Simultaneously, the A380 programme continues to meet all its milestones.

Airbus aircraft will participate both in the flying and the static display. As part of the flying display, Airbus will have its smallest and its largest aircraft currently in service: the A318 and the A340-600. Also, an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) and its test A340-300, fitted with one Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine instead of the conventional CFM International CFM 56 engine, will be on static display. The Trent 900 engine is one of two engine options on the A380 and is currently undergoing flight test on the A340-300.

Airbus will be present with a Hospitality Chalet (Row D 5-9) and a dedicated Press Suite with its own separate entrance. The Airbus Stand in Hall 4 (stand number A14) will feature all Airbus products as well as a number of displays covering many subjects including Manufacturing and Environment. Also, Airbus Military will be present with 1:20 scale models both of an A330 FSTA and an A400M.

On Monday, 19th July, Airbus will hold a press conference at 11.00 h in the ?Radlett Suite? room in the exhibition?s press centre. Further media briefings, particularly on Airbus? leadership in technology, will be held both on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Airbus Chalet (see notes for timings).

A special daily edition of Airbus? on-line magazine, ?Live from Farnborough?, will provide live coverage of events at the show, live video, a guided tour of the stand, a virtual guest book as well as all the news and background information throughout the show. It will also feature an exhibition of photographs taken at Airbus sites around the world. This special magazine will be accessible directly from the Airbus corporate website, www.airbus.com.
