Airbus’ A330-300 has surpassed the 500-order mark, reinforcing this widebody jetliner’s market competitiveness and demonstrated capabilities in service with more than 90 operators around the world.
In the past three years alone, the aircraft has attracted 27 new customers – further proof that its versatility, reliability and efficiency remain unequalled, and continue to be a winning combination in the medium- to long-haul marketplace.
The 500 milestone was reached last month with Cathay Pacific Airways’ firm order for 15 additional A330-300s, which will join this carrier’s existing A330 fleet for services across the Asia-Pacific region.
Cathay Pacific is Airbus’ largest A330 Family customer and operator to date, with 46 aircraft currently in use and another 21 to be delivered. Together with its Dragonair subsidiary, the company’s total bookings for A330-300 aircraft now stand at 54.
As a member of the popular A330 Family, the A330-300 benefits from demonstrated reliability, performance and unbeatable operating costs in service to over 250 airports worldwide, logging 15 million-plus flight hours and more than 3.6 million flight cycles.
With a true widebody fuselage, the A330-300 is able to accommodate seat and class configurations to suit diverse customer requirements. In addition to Cathay Pacific, the jetliner’s largest operators include the Asia-Pacific region’s China Airlines, Korean Air and Thai Airways International; Delta Air Lines in the United States; and Germany’s Lufthansa.
The jetliner has a range of up to 5,450 nautical miles while carrying 300 passengers in a typical two-cabin arrangement – all while retaining the A330 Family’s highly comfortable, low-noise cabin and operating commonality with the entire Airbus fly-by-wire product line.
