On Thursday, the A380 performed full airport compatibility tests to allow the Changi airport ground staff to familiarise themselves with the handling of the A380. This is the second time the aircraft comes to Singapore as it landed here in November during its Asia-Australia tour.

By the end of the air show in Singapore, several hundred visitors will have climbed on board the A380. “Impressive” is the most frequent key word used when visitors are asked for their impressions.

Seconded from the Airbus Customer Services to the MAP team, Yves Mary, A380 customer focus engineer, has been following the flight tests for the past 18 months to prepare the entry into service of the A380.

A key presentation at the ‘Welcoming the A380 Conference’, which will run alongside Asian Aerospace, will highlight Airbus’ collaboration with the airport and ground handling community to ensure A380 compatibility with existing equipment and infrastructure.
