Airbus and the newest members of its global team are “getting to work… together” – as the company officially inaugurated its first U.S. manufacturing facility: an A320 Family final assembly line in Mobile, Alabama. 

It was a red, white and blue theme today as the company welcomed the world inside the main hangar of its new U.S. Manufacturing Facility – where two A321 jetliners have entered final assembly at the site – with a ceremony that highlighted the importance of the plant to Airbus’ global presence, the local community and the U.S.

Less than one year after delivering the first A350 XWB (-900), the first A350-1000 is taking shape with the assembly start of the first fuselage major components at Airbus plants in Hamburg and Saint-Nazaire.

The forward fuselage section has been delivered by Premium Aerotec to Airbus in Hamburg where it will be equipped before being flown to Saint-Nazaire on board the Beluga. Scandinavian Airlines is the first European airline to receive the new A330-300 242-tonne Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) variant. The aircraft was delivered to SAS during a ceremony held at Airbus in Toulouse, France. SAS has selected Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines to power its new A330-300.

The first A350 XWB for TAM Airlines rolled out of the Airbus paint shop in Toulouse, revealing the aircraft in its signature red, white and blue livery. The aircraft will continue through the next stages of production, including the installation of engines, completion of cabin furnishing and cockpit fitting, before starting ground and flight tests. Innovation and leadership on display: Airbus at the 2015 Paris Air Show

Airbus will showcase its highly-efficient families of commercial aircraft – which range from 100 to more than 500 seats – and continuous technological innovations at this year’s Paris Air Show, which runs from 15-21 June.

The company’s market-leading widebody product line will be out in “full force” on the grounds of Le Bourget Airport near Paris – with four total A350 XWB and A380 aircraft appearing during the event.
