PROGRESS Trainee. Quality Improvement Manager in Stade, Germany

I studied Mechanical Engineering in Toulouse (France) and Hamburg (Germany). After a six month internship in the Industrial Engineering department at Airbus in Hamburg, I stayed for two years as a subcontractor. During that time, I looked for opportunities within EADS. I eventually applied for the PROGRESS Programme and I am now one of more than 90 trainees from 2009.

For my first assignment, I am working in the Conformance Management department at Airbus in Stade (Germany) - a small plant near Hamburg that specialises in composites. It's a totally new environment for me, so I'm learning a lot. I manage two different projects. One is about improving a visual inspection process. The other is implementing a new tool in production to facilitate quality inspections.

I find it very exciting to work on fascinating products in an international environment. And being part of a big international company, there will always be a lot of interesting career options. Besides the mentoring, the additional off-the-job training sessions and networking events organised by PROGRESS are great for my development.
