During my studies, I was inspired by the launch of the Airbus A380 programme, soon to become the world's most spacious and efficient passenger aircraft. When I finished my studies, I applied for the Airbus Direct Entry Graduate (DEG) Programme and was happy to be offered a position in Broughton in the Human Resources Department.
Today, the DEG Programme allows me a lot of freedom to find out about the company and to understand how I might best fit in and add value. Through the placement structure, the Programme has enabled me to work in different HR centres of expertise in Broughton, Filton, and Sevilla (e.g in Culture and Change Management; Reward and Organisation; Training & Recruitment, amongst others). For the last 6-month placement, I will join one of the Human Resources Business Partner Teams.
During this first year of the Programme I also had the opportunity to be part of an A380 project facing customer challenge. The programme is very flexible which benefits both the business and the graduates.
The DEG Programme is a great way to explore, understand and position yourself in a large company, and provides the opportunity to spend two years working in different roles, departments and locations, gaining broad and varied experience.
