Design and Engineering Office - Wichita, Kansas
Airbus opened its first North American design and engineering facility in 2002, bringing together some of America's top talent to work on the 525-seat A380 and other long-range Airbus programs. Located in Wichita, Kansas, the center has grown to employ nearly 200 engineers. The site is designed with a campus-like environment rather than a typical aircraft factory, and it has grown from the original 12,000-sq. ft. facility to a total of 33,000 sq. ft.

Engineering Office - Mobile, Alabama
Officially opened in February 2007, the Airbus North America Engineering facility in Mobile, Alabama is responsible for various interior elements of Airbus' newest aircraft, the A350 - including design and engineering work on its cabin, crew rest, lavatories and galleys. The office will employ 150 persons. Should Airbus parent company EADS receive an order to modernize the U.S. Air Force's aerial refueling fleet with Northrop Grumman's KC-45A Tanker, this facility would expand into a larger-scale industrial site for final assembly and outfitting of Tanker, as well as the A330 Freighter.

The $50 million Airbus Training Center in Miami, Florida, provides training for Airbus customers’ flight and cabin crew, as well as maintenance personnel. The custom-designed, 110,000-square-foot complex has five full-flight simulators (four for the A320 Family and one for the A330/A340), two fixed-base simulators (one each for the A320 Family and A330/A340), as well as cabin door and slide trainers, state-of-the-art computer-based training classrooms and aircraft system trainers. Approximately 4,000 trainees take Airbus courses annually at the Miami center under the direction of nearly 100 Airbus employees. Most of the facility’s trainees come from Airbus airline operators in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
