Andrew Shankland
Andrew Shankland was promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Airbus North America in January 2007, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Barry Eccleston. He leads the sales team – based at Airbus North America’s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia – in its efforts to reinforce the growing presence of Airbus aircraft with U.S. and Canadian airlines.

Shankland previously was the Vice President of Sales for Airbus North America, a post he occupied since September 2004. Prior to this, he was the company’s Vice President of Business Development, directing the sales and marketing teams from October 2001 in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for placing Airbus products in North America.

Between 1994 and September 2001, Shankland worked for Airbus North America in various positions, first as an Airline Marketing Manager, followed by Head of Airline Marketing, and finally a Sales Director before being appointed Vice President of Business Development. From 1992 to 1994, Shankland served as a Senior Airline Analyst in the Marketing Division for Airbus at its global headquarters in Toulouse, France.

Before joining Airbus, Shankland spent five years with then-British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) as a Technical Sales Executive in the company’s Commercial Aircraft Division in Hatfield, England. He graduated with a BSC Engineering degree from the Imperial College of Science and Technology of London.
