Airbus ensures a smooth and safe entry into service for its aircraft by providing facilities for the best possible training for flight crew, cabin crew, performance and operations engineers, maintenance and structure and repairs
Airbus has three major training centres – in Toulouse (France), Miami (USA) and Beijing (China). All three centres are equipped with the latest technology training equipment and learning systems and offer a wide range of courses. Devices used include simulators, computer-based training, real aircraft and escape slides. Airbus also has a training centre in Hamburg dedicated to A320 maintenance.
A more extensive network of training centres exists through Airbus’ co-operation with training specialist CAE, making Airbus–standard courses available even more widely around the world. You can find the CAE training centres in the drop-down menu of the interactive map below.
Commonality – the common cockpit, operating procedures and flight characteristics of Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft – enables Cross Crew Qualification, which minimises the time needed to train crews for different Airbus aircraft.
As well as training at Airbus training centres, the company conducts flight crew or maintenance Initial Operating Experience and practical training on aircraft. Airbus also works to maintain the highest safety standards by flight operations monitoring, which seeks to learn from in-service events.
