FAST technical magazine - #45

This edition of FAST details Airbus’ continuous efforts to increase product eco-efficiency, safety, reliability and longevity. Provided is an overview of the Airbus Chromate-Free project, an initiative aimed at replacing the most hazardous substances and processes with environmentally-friendly alternatives. This issue also outlines the new Airbus Auto Pilot/Flight Director mode for the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), which is designed to enhance flight safety during TCAS manoeuvres. Additional articles focus on efforts by Airbus engineers to reduce the number of operational interruptions caused by bleed air and air conditioning systems, and to define the A300-600 extended service goal.
