20 November 2005

Speaking to the media a few minutes after the final agreement, Gustav Humbert, President and CEO of Airbus and Mr Marwan Boodai, Chairman and CEO of newly formed Jazeera Airways announced a repeat order for six A320s.
With this repeat order for six, Jazeera Airways, a privately-owned Kuweit-based airline will have a total of ten A320s. Today it already operates two A320s and two more are to be delivered in the coming months.

Gustav Humbert expressed his pleasure that the new airline, which has only been flying for three weeks, has chosen the A320 to start then consolidate and expand its business.

Mr Marwan Boodai stressed how his airline started thanks to the support of Airbus. “If it were not for the superior and precious technical support of Airbus, we would not be here today,” he said.

“Prospects are great in the Middle East and the market is booming. We hope that the A320 will make it possible for more travellers to enjoy the benefits of both the A320 and Jazeera Airways’ services.”
