Airbus flies high at Dubai 2005
19 November 2005

Airbus once again has a strong presence at the Dubai Air Show, held this year from 20 – 24 November at the Airport Expo.

A highlight of this year’s show for industry and public alike is the A380 flying and static display. Dubai 2005 marks the first appearance of the A380 in the Middle East and the first time it participates in an air show outside of Europe. The aircraft is dressed in the full Emirates livery and the Airbus stand also features a mock-up of the impressive A380 cabin.

The all-new Airbus A350 is also a key focus of the show. The long-range aircraft, which is bigger, flies further and offers superior fuel-efficiency to its competitor aircraft, was launched formally on 6 October this year.

The Dubai Air Show has quickly developed into the Middle East’s largest gathering of aerospace professionals and is a key event in Airbus’ exhibition schedule. Airbus has supported the biennial exhibition since its inception and has participated in all of the eight previous exhibitions.

The Middle East is an increasingly important market for Airbus and the Dubai Air Show presents a good opportunity to meet with the region’s airline executives. Many of the region’s airlines currently operate large Airbus fleets, which are set to expand significantly as A380 and A350 orders are fulfilled over the coming years.
