First flight of the A330-200F freighter

The A330-200F's first flight took place on 5 November from Airbus' Toulouse, France headquarters. This maiden takeoff marked a key milestone for the cargo version of Airbus' popular A330 jetliner, which is the first new mid-sized freighter to be launched in 40 years.

First A380 delivery to Air France

Air France became the first European airline to receive the A380 when its no. 1 aircraft was accepted during a ceremony at Airbus' Hamburg, Germany delivery centre. Fly Your Ideas student challenge

The grand prize for Airbus' nine-month long global competition was awarded to the COz team at this year's Paris Air Show. The University of Queensland students' winning submission proposed the use of bio-composite materials made from castor plant fibres in aircraft passenger cabins.
