| Airbus has expanded the scope of its Biannual Environmental Report to include for the first time, social and economic issues.

The report provides a platform to encourage open dialogue between Airbus and its stakeholders, increasing transparency by highlighting Airbus' key environmental, social and economic performance and achievements.
The report also covers Airbus' position on key issues addressed by the air transport industry, including aviation's efforts to mitigate its impact on climate change and the need to balance the increasing demand for air traffic with the impact on local environment, for example.
In addition, the report outlines the economic and social benefits generated by air transport activity.
In the report, stakeholders are provided with a summary of Airbus' environmental performance, achievements and objectives as a manufacturer, including Airbus' contribution to the Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe (ACARE) targets.
Also covered, is Airbus' innovative implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14001 international environmental standard, which covers both site activities and products through a life-cycle approach.
The report also provides an overview of the company's social practices and economic involvement.
The reporting methodology of Airbus' Environmental, Social and Economic Report is based on the criteria recommended by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and has been verified by external auditors. |
