About Programme Planning
Airbus produces a large and consistently growing number of aircraft and is currently in the process of developing a range of new products. Programme Planning (PP) supports all these products from the early stages and throughout the product life.
The Programme Planning organisation ensures that the business has the capacity and ability to deliver what is needed, providing manufacturing build plans, resource plans, reporting, and forecasting tools. The department is key to providing the Operations management team with the data required to enable them to make business decisions.
DEGs have the opportunity to experience work at both Airbus UK sites, in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations. It is also possible to work with suppliers, customers and the final assembly lines in Toulouse or Hamburg.
Programme Planning is responsible for the production dates for all products across both the Broughton and Filton sites. The data is calculated by the PP team and is made visible both internally and externally to the supply chain through the use of System Application Process (SAP) software. The parts and material requirements for production are generated through this process.
It is the Programme Planning team that monitors adherence to the build plan, ensuring an achievable plan is available. The Planning team are responsible for producing and maintaining a long term build plan, the Master Production Schedule (MPS) using build rates based on customer demand, supported by tactical build plans, which are used to manage the products in the shorter term. |
