Work experience
The Spanish educational system requires students in their last year of secondary school (ages 18-21) to complete two periods of full-time work experience lasting three months each.
Airbus has established reciprocal agreements with several technical schools throughout Spain and each year accepts about a dozen students at its sites in Getafe (Madrid), Illescas (Toledo) and Puerto Real (Cadiz).
Most of these work placements run from March to May and from September to December, and are awarded to those pursuing technical qualifications in electronics, mechanics and logistics.
In addition to gaining professional knowledge and practical, on-the-job training, students acquire valuable experience within an international company. This gives them a tremendous advantage in a competitive labour market, greatly increasing their chances of finding a job after graduation.
Please note that, due to the small number of work placements available, Airbus in Spain only accepts applications from its partner technical schools.

Apprenticeships
Airbus in Spain also offers apprenticeships to technical and non-technical students wanting to learn about the business side of the aeronautical industry.
These are mainly in the following areas:
- human resources
- manufacturing
- finance
- logistics
Apprentices combine work with study, attending classes in the morning and working within Airbus in the afternoon or evening. While no previous work experience is required, students must be highly motivated to learn and work within an international environment.
