The vocational training received by approximately 1,500 Airbus apprentices each year is among the best available anywhere in the world.
In addition to this core training, some apprentices are selected to join the Intercultural Competence Programme (ICP), launched by Airbus in 2001.
Aims of the ICP
The overall aim of the ICP is to introduce young people to the unique challenges of working within a multicultural environment, thereby giving them a head start in today’s international business sector.
This involves:
  • encouraging participants to think and behave internationally;
  • increasing awareness of other cultures;
  • promoting mobility and adaptability;
  • developing intercultural skills;
  • providing experience of teamwork within an international and multicultural context;
  • encouraging the development of language skills;
  • increasing knowledge of Airbus as a global company.
