The A380 has proven itself as a serious revenue generator for a broad spectrum of leading carriers, and promises even greater potential with both current and future operators. From the moment it entered service, the jetliner’s popularity – combined with the lowest cost per seat and lowest emissions per passenger of any large aircraft – has led to more profit, more quickly.

The A380 has the potential to increase an operator’s return by as much as 35 per cent. Its increased capacity and longer range provide airlines with significantly more seat-miles on every flight. And because Airbus has maximised the boarding and deplaning process by cutting out choke points, the significantly shorter turnaround time for airport processing of an A380 allows schedules to be kept tight and extra flights flown.

Whether it’s being used to reduce the number of flights and create real cost savings while maintaining capacity, or to offer more capacity with fewer take-off slots, the A380 brings operators a wide range of commercial advantages. Introducing this next-generation jetliner on long-haul routes is creating thousands of extra seats for customers while saving them millions of dollars a year in cash operating costs. Thanks to the incorporation of the latest advances in structures, materials, aerodynamics, systems and engine design, the A380 will provide a direct operating cost per seat which is 20 per cent lower than the 747-400.

Furthermore, with two full-length decks, more space for every passenger, and a flying experience no other aircraft in the sky can match, the A380 has become a must-have ticket on every route it flies – resulting in a significant first-mover advantage for operators.

The most exciting plane in the sky is also a proven, working aircraft – making real money, day after day.

Spotlight on ...

...fuel-burn: Despite its ability to carry 35 per cent more passengers than its competitor, the A380 burns 12 per cent less fuel per seat – reducing operating costs and minimising its effects on the environment at the same time through fewer emissions. The A380 burns fuel per passenger at a rate comparable to that of an economical family car.
